Recitals, Concerts & other events

Elizabeth is an experienced performer, taking part in recitals and concerts both in the UK and abroad. She has taken roles both in stage performances and also in choral concerts including productions such as Mozart's Marriage of Figaro, Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, The Sound of Music and Gilbert and Sullivan's Princess Ida. Roles studied and performed include the mezzo/alto roles of many oratorios including St John Passion, Christmas Oratorio, Dream of Gerontius, Alto Rhapsody, Messiah, Samson and Elijah. She has a large repertoire of 20th Century British Art Song, including works by Britten, Warlock, Elgar, Quilter, Parry, Howells and Vaughan Williams, as well as more contemporary works by Thea Musgrave, Madeleine Dring and Flanders and Swann.

Music from other eras is well represented, with works from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. These include songs and arias by Gluck, Scarlatti, Rossini, Mozart, Haydn, Brahms, Verdi, Mahler and Bizet. Operatic arias come from such works as Carmen, Samson et Dalila, Orfeo, Rinaldo, Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Dido and Aeneas. Songs by Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irvine Berlin and their contemporaries feature amongst her repertoire, as well as songs from musicals such as Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chess, H M S Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance and Carousel.

Recent performance work include appearances with the Cannock Chase Orpheus Male Choir as well as concerts with the Shifnal Male Voice Choir and Kidderminster Male Choirs.

Elizabeth has released two CD recordings – ‘The Man I Love’, a selection of sings by George Gershwin, and ‘Songs of Britain’, a collection of 20th century British song.
